1. General names
Chinese: This group of birds is found only in the far south of China. The flowerpeckers are known as 啄花鸟 'peck-flower bird'.
Japanese: None of the Dicaeidae are found in Japan. The flowerpeckers are known as ハナドリ hana-dori 'flower bird', written 花鳥.
Vietnamese: The Dicaeidae are found extensively in Vietnam. The flowerpeckers are known as Chim sâu (Chim su in Central dialects).
