1. General names

Chinese: The wren is known as a 鹪鹩 jiāoliáo in Chinese.

Japanese: The Japanese name for the wren is ミソサザイ misosazai, written with the Chinese characters 鷦鷯 (adopted directly from Chinese, no connection with the Japanese sound).

Vietnamese: The wren is not found in Vietnam. However, non-specialist dictionaries give Hồng tước ('red sparrow') and Chim giỏ giẻ as Vietnamese names for the 'wren' or 'jenny wren'.
