Professor Trelawney's Second Prediction (Book 3) |
This is the prediction Professor Trelawney made to Harry before the dramatic events in the Shrieking Shack which culminated in Wormtail's escape and eventual reunion with Voldemort. Although it occurs in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Chapter 16), it was in fact Professor Trelawney's second true prediction. The first prediction occurred many years earlier but is not revealed until Book 5, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

| It will happen tonight. The Dark Lord lies alone and friendless, abandoned by his followers. His servant has been chained these twelve years. The Taiwanese translator has gone to much greater efforts to create a credible prophecy, phrased in the dignified and imposing language that is likely to be used in prophecy.
