Ichigo

Ichigo is a native Japanese word meaning 'strawberry'. In Chinese characters it is written , but this character is not in the Joyoo Kanji. This means that the most favoured form should be ichigo in hiragana (). Katakana is also a possible form as there is a custom of writing names of plants and animals in katakana.

Hiragana is the form used below in a menu in a 'family restaurant':

Kōri ichigo miruku 480 en
Ice strawberry milk 480 yen
